Do you dread snow days?? Kids LOVE snow days.
The kids in this picture are faving a blast, and you can almost imagine them coming in from the cold to a cup of hot chocolate topped with a thick layer of marshmallows.  To a child, life doesn't get much better. (except at Christmas, of course- and their birthday and ...ok, I degress)

I did, and I never miss out on anything that my children
are doing anymore.  I am the master of my life (ok, actually
my daughter's basketball coach is, but...)

I determine what my work schedule is,
what time of day I go to get my massage,
and whether or not I curl my hair.

and if my daughter wakes up sick,
I simply keep her in bed,
give her some medication,
rub her back until she goes back to sleep,
and go get another cup of coffee!

No more worrying over what to do with her
so I can get to work,

or even worse,

no more phone calls to a less than happy boss
asking for the day off to stay with my sick kid.

"Well Kim, are you going to use a sick day,
a personal day-oops! you've used all of them,
or will you use another vacation day?"

Boy, do I remember those days.
I also remember just how willing I was
to do WHATEVER I had to, to get out of that world!!
